AHKÍ
A LITTLE ABOUT US
AHKí is an intimate yet spacious facility nestled in 5.5 mountain acres, we are located near the Pacific coast, in the Guanacaste region of Costa Rica. Imbued with lush, green mountainsides, blue ocean waters, plentiful sunshine and with it's accessible location, AHKí is the perfect destination for your retreats. As remote as AHKí feels, we are only minutes away from beaches, kayaking, horseback riding, world famous Nosara surfing, zip-lining, nature hikes, shopping, restaurants and more. What is so unique about AHKí is that it is a truly sacred space - built specifically according to the ancient science of Vastu Shastra, "the yoga of space", invoking peace, wellness and harmony - with the environment as well as within one's self. All our structures are built oriented in conjunction with the 9 directions, 5 elements, the earth's vibrational grid, and the planetary energies. All floors, walls and roofs have been painstakingly measured according to Vastu to maximize the flow of positive energy throughout.

Co-Founder, AHKí Retreat
Karen's own on-going journey of awakening and healing has brought her to a place of appreciation for the magic and the mysteries. It is through her own inner-work and healing that she brings compassion and a heartfelt desire to help others along their path towards wholeness. Her personal practice consists of meditation and yoga; Holotropic Breathwork; journeying; shadow work; dream journaling; insightful blogging; art, and the ongoing study of Vastu Shastra (the Vedic art and science of creating sacred space). She considers her teachers to be many: Jack Kornfield, Stanislav Grof, Joseph Campbell, Paul Grilley, Aachan Anthony James, Sarah Powers and Buddha to name a few and of course her family and friends. She believes, now more than ever, more of us are searching for ways to become more healthy and whole, not just in our bodies, but in our minds, our hearts and our spirits. It is her aim and mission to support the healing that is so needed in today's world.
Karen is a registered yoga teacher, a certified Thai Yoga practitioner and a certified Healing Touch practitioner.BILL (SHRED) MCGILL

DANIELA MAYORGA
Head Chef
Head Chef
After graduating from the University Interamericana Culinary Institute in San Jose, CR and working in several restaurants, approaching many different cooking styles, from fancy fast food to fine dining, Daniela arrived to the Nosara area one year ago.
Once here and after settling down, she started to notice that big part of the community has a healthy lifestyle approach oriented to yoga, meditation, clean whole foods, spiritual healing and holistic treatments. She believes with all the geographic and demographic advantages that this area has to offer, it’s easy for people to get inspired by nature in all possible ways.
At AHKí, her mission is to take Mother Nature's gifts and put them on a plate - not just to satisfy your hunger, but to feed your body while you nourish your soul!

Co-Founder
After many years of dreaming, searching and planning, Greg has managed to peel himself away from the corporate jungle to find his himself in the real, actual jungle of Costa Rica. Having worked on Wall Street and the World Trade Center in NYC and then on to Baltimore, MD to co-spearhead a new telecom location there, Greg felt it was time to trade in the fluorescent lights and recycled office air for sunshine and warm breezes.
"May all who dwell here upon this sacred land; permanent and transient, human and animal, rocks and trees,
birds and insects, wind and rain, be blessed and protected."
